Michael Addotey Addo, who was in charge of Finance and Administration at the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), has resigned immediately.
Sources familiar with the situation say his resignation is due to tension between him and the newly appointed Director-General, Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo.
Addo’s resignation came shortly after the outgoing DG, Dr. John Ofori Tenkorang, handed over his notes to the Trust’s Board before the Monday deadline.
President Akufo-Addo terminated Dr. Ofori Tenkorang’s appointment on April 9 and appointed Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo in his place.

This led to other changes within SSNIT, including Pearl Nana Ama Darko being reassigned to the Ghana Revenue Authority and Juliana Kpedekpo taking over as the new Deputy Director General for Operations and Benefits.
Additionally, the President will appoint new Deputy Directors General for Investment and Development and for Finance and Administration to replace Osafo-Maafo and Addo, respectively.
