Ghana’s Manklalo Cultural Ensemble Electrifies Dubai Mall.

Last Saturday, the Manklalo Cultural Group from Ghana performed at the iconic Dubai Mall, delivering a spectacular display of traditional Ghanaian music and dance for a large audience that included Ghanaian tourists and international visitors. The tour was arranged in partnership with Densu Travel and Tour, and coincided with Dubai’s busy summer calendar, drawing tourists eager to experience authentic African culture.

Their performance showcased the rhythmic Adowa and energetic Kpanlogo drum patterns and dance with cherished expressions of Ghanaian heritage. The group’s female members; Princess Owusu, Dorothy Kpornyo, Leticia Adobea, Rita Addo, Rena Asuua, and their leader Comfort Amoah performed as both singers and dancers. Their male counterparts; Kingsley Osei, Peter Ayamga, Dominic Yamoah, Isaac Owusu, Alphonse Selete, Eliasu Mustapha, Bright Lodo, and their leader Ebenezer Sarpong served as instrumentalists, playing an array of traditional Ghanaian instruments including gome, djembe, maracas, atumpan, shekere, talking drum, bongos, and congas.

Guests were seen dancing along during the show, with many in the audience, especially Ghanaians, singing with the group when familiar songs were performed. The lively interactive atmosphere illustrated the universal language of music and dance, breaking barriers between cultures.

This Dubai appearance is part of Manklalo Cultural Group’s ongoing world tour, which will continue across the USA as well as other parts of Asia and Europe later this year. Their Dubai Mall event, supported by Densu Travel and Tour, underscored the group’s mission to share Ghanaian culture globally and foster cross-cultural connections through the arts.
